Trane Home app, set up by me
Trane Home App: Watch Your System From Your Phone
With a Trane smart thermostat on the wall, your whole system shows up on your phone. You can change the temperature from the field, see how long the system ran yesterday, and, if you want, let my office see a problem coming before you feel it. I set the app up with you on every smart thermostat I install.
What the monitoring screens show
These are Trane’s own screens from its App Store listing. The numbers on them are Trane’s sample data, not a real home.

What it does
- Change temperature, mode and fan from anywhere
- Build schedules, presets and automations
- See system status, indoor humidity and runtime history
- Voice control through Alexa and Google Home
- Trane Diagnostics, if you opt in: your dealer sees performance trends and alerts, can spot trouble early, and with your permission can sometimes fix a setting remotely. Data is encrypted and only covers your HVAC system.
What it works with
Trane Home runs on Trane’s smart thermostats: the Priority, the Trane Link UX360, the XR724, and the XL824, XL850 and XL1050 already in many homes. Trane keeps the full compatibility list at support.tranehome.com.
Setting it up
- Connect the thermostat to your home Wi-Fi.
- Download the app and create your account (or sign up at tranehome.com).
- Enroll the thermostat in your account from the thermostat screen.
- Turn on Trane Diagnostics if you want your dealer to see system alerts.
I do all four with you when I install the thermostat. Trane’s own setup videos are below if you’re doing it yourself.
Get the app: App Store · Google Play. In the stores it is listed under its platform name, Nexia Home Intelligence. Trane app support: 877-288-7707.
Trane Home questions
Is the Trane Home app free?
Trane offers the app in the App Store and Google Play and at tranehome.com. I set it up with you when I install a Trane smart thermostat.
Can my HVAC dealer see my system through Trane Home?
Only if you opt in to Trane Diagnostics. Then your dealer sees HVAC performance data and alerts, not anything else in your home, and you can turn it off.
Does Trane Home work with Alexa and Google?
Yes, both. You link them inside the app.
Why does the app say Nexia in the store?
Nexia is the platform the Trane Home app runs on, so the store listing uses that name. It’s the same app Trane links to.
Can the app show how long my system has been running in Oklahoma heat?
Yes. The runtime history screen shows hours by day or month, split by cooling, heating and backup heat.
