Got a quote from another HVAC contractor and the price feels off? I’ll give you a free second opinion on any HVAC diagnosis or estimate. No charge, no obligation. 45 years fixing heat and air in Kingfisher County. I’ll tell you straight what I find.

When You Should Get a Second Opinion
Most folks who call me for a second opinion fall into one of these buckets. If any of these sound like your situation, send me the estimate.
- The quote is over $5,000. Replacement quotes routinely run $8K to $25K. A 30 minute review can save you thousands or confirm the price is fair.
- The other contractor says replace, not repair. Sometimes they are right. Sometimes a $400 part fixes a system they want to swap for $12K. I check the math both ways.
- You have multiple competing estimates and they do not match. Different equipment, different sizing, wildly different prices. I will tell you which one is closest to right and why.
- You felt hard-sell pressure. Same-day-only discount, “if you do not sign today the price goes up,” fear-based pitches. That is a sales tactic, not honest work.
- They refused to itemize the bill. A real HVAC estimate breaks out equipment, labor, materials, and any add-ons. If it is a single lump-sum number with no detail, you are flying blind.
What I Check When I Review Your Estimate
Here is exactly what I look at line by line.
- Diagnosis accuracy. Does the failure they describe match the symptoms you saw? Was a real diagnostic done or was it eyeballed?
- Replacement vs repair math. Age, refrigerant type, compressor health, warranty status. Sometimes repair makes sense at 12 years, sometimes replace makes sense at 8.
- Equipment sizing (Manual J). Most contractors size by rule of thumb. I run the actual load calculation for your square footage, insulation, windows, and orientation. Oversized equipment short-cycles and dies early.
- Warranty terms and rebate eligibility. Manufacturer parts warranty, labor warranty, and the active Oklahoma utility rebates: OG&E up to $3,000 on HVAC plus $1,000 per ton geo, CKenergy up to $24,000 geo (10 counties not including Kingfisher), Cimarron Electric $600, KPWA, OEC $400-$700 per ton geo, and CVEC.
- Labor and parts markup. What did they pay for the equipment and what are they charging? Reasonable markup is one thing, a 4x markup on a Trane is another.
Heads up on tax credits. Section 25C and 25D federal tax credits both expired December 31, 2025. If a contractor is quoting you those credits for a 2026 install, that is a red flag. Oklahoma utility rebates are still active and that is what I focus on.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a second opinion on HVAC cost in Kingfisher Oklahoma?
Zero. I do not charge for a second opinion on another contractor’s HVAC diagnosis or estimate. No dispatch fee, no diagnostic fee, no obligation to hire me. If you want me to do the work after my review, my dispatch is $99 and diagnostic is $111, credited if you accept the repair.
What does a second opinion include?
I review the other contractor’s written estimate or diagnosis. I look at the equipment they recommend, the sizing math (Manual J), the parts and labor breakdown, the warranty terms, and whether they accounted for active Oklahoma utility rebates. I will also walk your system if needed and confirm whether the diagnosis matches what I see.
Will you call out another contractor’s mistake?
Yes, plainly. If the diagnosis is wrong, I will tell you. If the equipment is oversized or undersized for your home, I will show you the math. If the price is fair, I will tell you that too. I have been fixing heat and air in Kingfisher County for 15+ years and I am not afraid to back the right call.
Can you give a second opinion on a heat pump replacement?
Yes. Heat pump replacements are where I see the biggest gaps in other quotes. I am IGSHPA accredited for geothermal and a Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer plus Trane TCS SELECT for air source. I check the load calculation, the refrigerant line set sizing, the backup heat strategy, and the rebate eligibility from OG&E, OEC, CKenergy, Cimarron Electric, or KPWA.
How fast can you do a second opinion in Kingfisher?
Most second opinions I can knock out within 24 to 48 hours. Send me your written estimate by email or text to 405-375-4822, or I will come look at your system in person. Same-day reviews are available when my schedule allows.
