HVAC Systems for Cannabis Cultivation Facilities

I design precision temperature, humidity, and CO₂ control systems for licensed cannabis cultivation facilities across Oklahoma. I understand the tight tolerances compliant cultivation demands, and the consequences of HVAC failure during a grow cycle. Call 405-375-4822.

Controlled environment HVAC systems are critical for cannabis cultivation facilities. Precise temperature, humidity, and airflow management directly impact plant health, yield, and operational efficiency. I provide engineered HVAC solutions for controlled agricultural environments across Oklahoma, with 45 years in the trade and a 4.8 star, 276 review track record.

Cannabis cultivation rooms share a lot with commercial cooling work I do every day. Walk-in coolers, reach-ins, and prep table units run on the same refrigeration principles. If you also need cooling for product storage or post-harvest handling, see my full list of commercial refrigeration services in Central Oklahoma.

Environmental Control Requirements

Cannabis cultivation requires strict environmental control, including consistent temperature regulation, humidity balance, and proper air exchange. Improper HVAC design can lead to mold risk, reduced yield, and operational inefficiencies.

  • Temperature stability
  • Humidity management
  • Air circulation and filtration
  • Equipment load management
  • Redundancy planning

I also handle broader controlled environment HVAC system design and specialty services.

Engineered System Design & Installation

In partnership with a licensed and bonded engineering firm, my team provides engineered system design and installation services. Combined project experience exceeds 600,000 cooling tons across multi-state installations.

Dehumidification & Environmental Control Equipment

I supply, install, and warranty high-performance dehumidification systems including Quest dehumidifiers, built specifically for controlled cultivation environments.

Environmental Controls & System Automation

Precise environmental control requires advanced system automation. I install and service environmental control systems covering temperature, humidity, airflow, and monitoring controls.

Pump & Mechanical System Service

I provide pump repair and replacement, chilled water system service, and mechanical system maintenance for cultivation facilities.

Scheduled Maintenance Between Grow Cycles

Scheduled HVAC and environmental system inspections between grow cycles help prevent operational failures and protect yield consistency.

High-Efficiency System Integration

Energy efficiency is critical in cultivation facilities due to continuous operational demands. High-efficiency systems help reduce long-term operating costs while maintaining environmental stability.

24/7 Emergency Response

Controlled environment operations demand reliable emergency response. My technicians are available for urgent system failures affecting temperature, humidity, or airflow stability.

Service & Maintenance

Ongoing service and system monitoring prevent operational downtime. I provide maintenance and system support for controlled environment HVAC systems.

Cannabis Cultivation HVAC: Frequently Asked Questions

Hartzell’s Heat & Air, 4.8 stars / 276 reviews. Master HVAC, NATE certified, IGSHPA accredited. Based in Kingfisher Oklahoma, 15+ years serving Central Oklahoma growers.

How much dehumidification do I need for a cannabis flower room in Oklahoma?

Plan on roughly 2 to 3 pints per pound of expected yield per day, plus another 30 percent for Oklahoma humidity swings. A 1,000 square foot flower room with mature canopy usually needs 200 to 400 pints per day of dedicated dehumidification, on top of the cooling load. I size every room with a written load calculation, not a guess.

What temperature and humidity setpoints should I run for veg versus flower?

In veg I target 75 to 80 degrees lights on, 65 to 75 lights off, with 55 to 65 percent relative humidity. In flower I tighten it: 72 to 78 lights on, 62 to 70 lights off, dropping humidity from 55 percent in early flower down to 40 to 45 percent the last two weeks. Tight control beats budtender bragging rights every time.

How do I size HVAC for a grow tent versus a full warehouse in Kingfisher Oklahoma?

A single 4×4 tent under 600 watts of LED can usually run on a small portable AC plus a 70 pint dehumidifier. A 5,000 square foot warehouse with 100 plus lights is a different animal: you are looking at 15 to 30 tons of cooling, 1,000 plus pints per day of dehumidification, redundant compressors, and proper duct design. I run a Manual N commercial load calc on every facility.

Should I use mini splits or a central system for my grow rooms?

For one or two small rooms, ductless mini splits are flexible and efficient. For commercial cultivation I almost always go central or packaged units with dedicated dehumidification, because mini splits dehumidify poorly when cooling demand drops at lights off. As an IGSHPA accredited contractor I will also quote a geothermal option when the loop math works.

Do you give free estimates for cannabis HVAC, and can you keep me OMMA compliant?

Yes, free estimate every time. I am Master HVAC licensed and NATE certified, with 45 years in the trade and 15 plus years running Hartzell’s out of Kingfisher. I will document temperature and humidity controls, air exchange rates, and equipment specs that line up with OMMA facility requirements. Call 405-375-4822 and I will come walk the building.
