Not every geothermal project is a house. If you are heating a shop, barn, or outbuilding on Oklahoma acreage, the load behaves differently and so does the loop.

What I measure before the recommendation
Home load and ductwork
Manual J load, duct size, static pressure, airflow, return path, and whether the house can actually use the capacity being quoted.
Loop and water side
Loop pressure, pump operation, entering water temperature, leaving water temperature, flow or GPM, freeze protection, and leak clues.
Heat-pump operation
Electrical draw, control calls, blower operation, coil condition, refrigerant-circuit behavior, desuperheater operation when equipped, and manufacturer targets.
Money path
Cash, normal financing, utility paperwork proof, Comfort Plan eligibility, and whether waiting is smarter than forcing a project.
Geothermal authority cluster
Finished Oklahoma projects, published at city level with the customer details left out: a two-system install with drilled wells in Piedmont, a long-service geothermal home in Okeene, and a three-floor lake house near Lake Texoma.
What not to trust from a geothermal quote
- Do not trust a savings or payback number that was not built from your house, utility rate, existing equipment, usage pattern, and loop choice.
- Do not trust rebate amounts unless the current utility source and your service address both support them.
- Do not trust a geothermal diagnosis that skips loop pressure, water temperatures, flow, airflow, and electrical readings.
- Do not let a public troubleshooting answer walk you into panels, refrigerant, pumps, antifreeze, wells, or loop piping. Those are professional boundaries.

How much does a geothermal heat pump cost in Oklahoma?

Is there still a federal geothermal tax credit in 2026?
