Hartzell’s Full Coverage Geothermal Plan is a ten year lease with nothing down. It covers the system, loop, install, controls, maintenance, filters, repairs and service labor, subject to the terms of the contract. A $25,000 system runs $225 a month, a $40,000 system runs $332, and I am the one servicing it for the full ten years.

Both examples are a flat payment: the same payment every month for all 10 years. Or you can start lower with a small yearly increase (0.99% or 1.99%); you pay the same total either way. Nothing is due up front, and extra payments are optional. At the end of the term you can buy it out for about 22% of the job cost, about $5,500 on a $25,000 system or about $8,800 on a $40,000 system.

What the ground loop asks of your property
The loop field is the biggest single cost driver on a geothermal project, bigger than the brand on the equipment. More tonnage means more buried pipe, and more buried pipe means more ground. Before anybody talks program terms, I need to know whether your property has the usable area, where the septic and the utilities run, and what access for an excavator looks like.
Around Kingfisher and the surrounding counties most residential loops are horizontal: trenches cut across the property with pipe laid in circuits, then backfilled. Our clay conducts heat well when it holds moisture, which is one reason geothermal performs so consistently here. Vertical bores exist for tight lots, but on rural acreage horizontal trenching is usually the economical route. A few feet down, Oklahoma soil holds a steady temperature all year while the air above it swings from single digits in January to triple digits in July. In summer the system rejects heat into cool ground instead of fighting 100 degree air, and in winter it pulls heat out of ground that never froze.

Mine or anybody else’s. A program that will not put these plainly on paper is telling you something.
Utility money still comes to you
Federal credits sit on Palmetto’s side. Utility, state and local programs are different money, and in almost every case they go to the homeowner, unless a specific program pays whoever owns the equipment. I am not going to subtract a rebate from your payment to make a page look good. Tell me your ZIP and your electric provider and I will check the current official program before anybody quotes an amount.

Who is the Full Coverage Geothermal Plan right for?
Somebody who wants geothermal, plans to stay in the house, and does not want the loop cost sitting on a loan or a credit line. It suits new construction and full replacements better than a patch on a system with a few good years left in it.
Who should not take it?
If you are selling inside a couple of years, or you have the cash and you want the equipment in your name and on your balance sheet, buying outright is the cleaner deal. I will tell you that on the estimate rather than after.
Who services the system during the ten years?
I do. Same truck, same phone number, the whole term. The plan does not hand you to a call center, and it does not send a stranger from out of state to work on a loop I designed.
What do I ask for in writing before I sign?
The monthly payment and the term, the buyout at the end, exactly what maintenance and filters are covered and what the caps are, what happens on a repair beyond the manufacturer allowance, and who holds title to the equipment. If a document will not say those plainly, that is your answer.
Do I claim a federal tax credit on a leased system?
No. Through third-party ownership, Palmetto can monetize available tax credits and apply that value to the customer’s benefit. You claim nothing on your own return. Check current IRS and ENERGY STAR guidance and talk to your own tax professional about your situation.
Do you do free consultations on the weekend?

Can I still have geothermal installed before Thanksgiving?
If we start now, the loop work and the install still fit before Thanksgiving, where the schedule allows. Geothermal takes longer than swapping a furnace because the loop goes in first, so the earlier I see the property, the easier it is to hold a date. I will tell you straight what is realistic once I look at the project.
