HVAC Financing & Oklahoma Utility Rebates | Hartzell’s Heat & Air
A new HVAC system is a significant investment. Hartzell’s makes it easier with financing options for qualifying customers throughout Kingfisher, Oklahoma City, and all of central Oklahoma — including 0% APR for up to 60 months and payments as low as $133/month on an $8,000 system. Three of our five lenders use a soft credit pull only — no impact to your score just to check your offers. Oklahoma utility rebates from CKenergy, OG&E, and other co-ops can offset thousands more on qualifying equipment. Note: the federal 25C air-source and 25D geothermal credits expired December 31, 2025 — Oklahoma utility rebates remain fully active.

Federal Tax Credits & Oklahoma Utility Rebates
Important 2026 Update: The federal Section 25C credit for air-source HVAC expired on December 31, 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The Section 25D geothermal credit also expired on December 31, 2025 — new geothermal installs in 2026 do not qualify for 25D either. Oklahoma utility rebates remain active and significant — CKenergy offers $2,000/ton (up to $24,000), OG&E offers $1,000/ton, PSO offers a flat rebate, and Cimarron Electric offers $600 — see below. If you installed a qualifying system in 2025, you can still claim the applicable credit on your 2025 tax return (filed in 2026). Consult a tax advisor.
Oklahoma Utility Rebates (Still Active in 2026)
While federal credits are gone, Oklahoma utility companies offer meaningful rebates for energy-efficient HVAC upgrades — particularly for geothermal heat pumps. Always verify current amounts directly with your utility before making a purchase decision.
OG&E (Oklahoma Gas & Electric)
Geothermal: $1,000/ton rebate
HVAC replacement: Up to $3,000
Smart thermostat: $50 rebate for ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostat installation. Stacks with equipment rebates.

Cimarron Electric Cooperative
Geothermal heat pump: $600 rebate (new or replacement)
Check cimarronelectric.com for full rebate schedule.
OMPA Member Utilities
Cities served by OMPA (Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority) can access the WISE rebate program for heat pumps and geothermal. Check with your municipal utility or ompa.com.
Rural Electric Cooperatives
Geothermal: Up to $1,050/ton
Includes Canadian Valley, Central Electric, CKenergy, and others. Check with your co-op for current rebate amounts.
Rebate programs are administered by individual utilities and may change without notice. Always verify current rebate amounts directly with your utility company before purchasing equipment. Hartzell’s can help identify which rebates apply to your specific situation and utility service territory.
If You Installed Equipment in 2025 — You Can Still Claim the Credit
If a qualifying system was installed and placed in service by December 31, 2025, you can still claim the federal credit on your 2025 tax return (filed in 2026). Additionally, any unused credit from prior years can be carried forward. Consult a tax professional for your specific situation. File IRS Form 5695.
Geothermal: Still the Best Long-Term Investment
Even without the federal tax credit, geothermal heat pumps remain the best long-term HVAC investment for Oklahoma homeowners who plan to stay in their home:
- Oklahoma utility rebates — OG&E offers $1,000/ton; rural electric coops offer up to $1,050/ton. On a 3-ton system, that’s $3,000–$3,150 back from your utility alone.
- 300–500% efficiency — Ground source heat pumps produce 3–5 units of heating/cooling for every unit of electricity. Conventional heat pumps produce 1.5–2.5 in Oklahoma winter conditions.
- Lower operating cost — Typical Oklahoma homeowners save $500–$1,200/year on heating and cooling vs. a conventional system.
- 25+ year life expectancy — Ground loops last 50+ years. Equipment life is 20–25 years vs. 10–15 for conventional systems.

Hartzell’s can help navigate the rebate process. After installing your system, we can provide the documentation your utility requires — model numbers, AHRI certification numbers, SEER ratings, and contractor license information. Just ask when you schedule your installation estimate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hartzell’s offer financing near me in Oklahoma?
Yes. Hartzell’s offers HVAC financing throughout Kingfisher, Oklahoma City, and all of central Oklahoma through five lending partners: Synchrony, Wells Fargo Home Projects, Wisetack, JB Financing, and Klarna. Multiple lenders mean more options and better approval chances for every credit situation. Wisetack, JB Financing, and Klarna use a soft credit pull only — no impact to your score just to check your offers. Call 405-375-4822 or mention it when you request your free estimate.
Can I get interest-free furnace or AC financing?
Yes — Hartzell’s offers 0% APR financing for up to 60 months on qualifying Trane system purchases through Synchrony. Wisetack also offers 0% APR for up to 24 months for qualifying customers. On an $8,000 system at 0% for 60 months, that’s $133/month with no interest. Subject to credit approval. Ask Dave for current 0% promotional terms when you call — 405-375-4822.
What credit score do I need to finance an HVAC system?
It depends on the lender. Synchrony and Wells Fargo Home Projects typically require good-to-excellent credit (680+). Wisetack works with a wider range of credit profiles and has an approximately 80% approval rate. JB Financing routes your application through 30+ lenders and considers credit scores as low as 590, with approximately a 75% approval rate. Wisetack, JB Financing, and Klarna all use a soft credit pull — checking your options won’t affect your score. If you’ve been declined elsewhere, JB Financing is usually the best next step.
How much are monthly payments on a new AC or HVAC system?
At 0% APR over 60 months: a $5,000 system runs about $83/month; an $8,000 system runs about $133/month; a $12,000 premium system runs about $200/month. Geothermal systems ($15,000–$30,000) qualify for extended terms up to 120 months through Wells Fargo Home Projects. Actual payments depend on your credit approval, term, and any promotional rate. Call 405-375-4822 — Dave will walk you through the numbers on your specific estimate.
Does applying for HVAC financing affect my credit score?
Wisetack, JB Financing, and Klarna all use a soft credit pull to show you your options — this does not affect your credit score. Synchrony and Wells Fargo use a hard pull when you formally apply, which may have a small temporary impact. Start with Wisetack, JB Financing, or Klarna if you want to see rates without any credit impact first.
What is the federal tax credit for a new HVAC system?
The federal Section 25C credit for air-source HVAC expired on December 31, 2025. The Section 25D geothermal credit also expired December 31, 2025 — new 2026 installs do not qualify for either. If you installed a qualifying system in 2025, you can still claim the credit on your 2025 tax return. Oklahoma utility rebates remain fully active: OG&E offers $1,000/ton for geothermal, CKenergy offers $2,000/ton (up to $24,000) in 10 counties, and Cimarron Electric offers $600. Consult your tax advisor.
How much does a new HVAC system cost in Oklahoma?
Central AC + furnace or heat pump replacement: $5,000–$12,000 in central Oklahoma depending on size and efficiency. Ductless mini-split (single zone): $3,000–$6,000 installed. Geothermal: $15,000–$30,000 before utility rebates up to $2,000/ton. Hartzell’s provides upfront pricing — you know the exact cost before work begins. Free estimates on all new system installations.
