OG&E in Enid, co-op outside it
Enid itself is OG&E, whose Oklahoma residential rebates are closed for 2026. Get outside the city and you are into cooperative territory, and the co-ops on the north and west edges of the county run their own programs on their own schedules. Two houses fifteen miles apart can have completely different money on the table for the same heat pump.

What changed on new equipment
New systems now ship with R-454B or R-32 instead of R-410A. Both are mildly flammable A2L refrigerants, both cost meaningfully more per pound than R-410A did, and both need the right recovery equipment and handling. I stock and work on both, and I will tell you which one your new system uses before you buy it.
On an older R-410A or R-22 system the question is usually whether to keep repairing it. I look at age, the failure and what else is tired, then tell you what I would do if it were my house. Hard water is what kills them here
Oklahoma hard water runs about 15 to 25 grains per gallon across my service area. That sediment settles in the bottom of the tank, insulates the burner or the element from the water it is supposed to heat, and shortens the life of the whole thing. What Garfield County is built out of
Garfield County is the commercial and medical hub of northwest Oklahoma, anchored by Enid, home to Vance Air Force Base, Phillips 66 regional operations and St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. Enid is one of the largest grain storage hubs in the country, and the elevator skyline is the first thing you see coming in.
The housing runs from Victorian era homes in the historic district near Woodring, many with cast iron radiators converted to gas and ductwork added long after the house was built, out to the newer south Enid subdivisions. Those two ends of town need completely different work from me.
Outside Enid it is farm country: Garber, Covington, Drummond, Waukomis and Lahoma. Hot summers, cold winters and wind that never lets up are hard on equipment, and that is the real reason I check a coil before I quote a compressor.

My filter is black after a month. Is that normal here?
During harvest, yes. Wheat dust loads a filter fast. A loaded filter starves airflow, freezes coils and burns out blower motors, so it is worth checking monthly in season.
Do you work on the older homes near Enid's historic district?
Yes. Many have cast iron radiators that were converted, or ductwork added decades after the house was built. I assess the whole system before recommending equipment rather than swapping a box.
Does an Enid address change my price?
No. Garfield County is in my everyday service area and the pricing is the same as anywhere else: $210 flat, $309 after hours.
Do you handle the rebate paperwork if a program is open?
Yes, I do the documentation for whichever program you actually qualify for. I confirm it is live first, because a rebate I cannot verify is not a rebate, it is a guess.
Can you size a system properly for an old Enid house?
That is the whole job. I run a Manual J load calculation rather than matching whatever tonnage was there before, because the old number is often wrong and the ductwork frequently cannot carry it.
