A furnace burns something to make heat. A geothermal heat pump moves heat that is already sitting under your yard, and moving heat is far cheaper than making it. That is how the numbers work out to about $4.50 of heat for every $1 of electricity you buy, a COP up to 4.5.
In practice: cut your heating and cooling energy use by about half, and watch it show up at the meter. Not a brochure promise. Physics, doing the same thing it has done since before Oklahoma was a state.
