Rooted in the Community
I have been part of the Kingfisher, Oklahoma community for 15+ years, sponsoring local events, supporting schools, and giving back to central Oklahoma. I believe a business earns its place by investing in the people around it.
Hartzell’s Heat & Air has called central Oklahoma home for 15+ years. I don’t just work here, I live here, I worship here, I raise my family here.
In a small Oklahoma town, your reputation follows you everywhere, to the grocery store, to the Friday night game, to church on Sunday. Dave Hartzell isn’t just your HVAC technician. He’s your neighbor. And when he gives you his word, he means it.
That sense of accountability shapes everything about how I run this business. A handshake still means something here. I do what I say, and I say what I mean, because I know I’ll see you at the game on Friday, at the Masons breakfast on Saturday, and at the restaurant downtown on Sunday.
Kingfisher Schools
Hartzell’s has been a consistent supporter of Kingfisher Public Schools for years. Education and trades training are the foundation of strong communities, and I put my money where my mouth is.
⚽ Yellowjackets Soccer
Proud sponsor of Kingfisher Yellowjackets soccer. My crew shows up at the games, we cheer on these kids, and I’m honored to help make their season happen.
💻 Computer Department
I support the Kingfisher Schools computer department, because technology and trades are both part of building a competitive future for Oklahoma students.
📚 Yearbook
I advertise in the Kingfisher Schools yearbook. These are the kids growing up in our community, and I want them to know local businesses believe in them.
Vo-Tech Mentorship
The HVAC trade is facing a serious technician shortage across the country. My answer is to get involved at the source, working directly with vo-tech students and bringing them into real job sites to learn the trade hands-on.
What vo-tech mentorship looks like at Hartzell’s:
- Students shadow me and my crew on real residential and commercial jobs
- Hands-on exposure to diagnostics, equipment installation, and service calls
- Honest conversations about what a career in HVAC looks like, the hard parts and the rewards
- A path to a trade that pays well, is recession-resistant, and keeps people comfortable in Oklahoma’s extreme climate
“The trades need the next generation. I learned this trade by doing it alongside someone who knew what they were doing. That’s what I try to give these students, real experience, not just classroom theory.”, Dave Hartzell
Community Events & Local Advertising
Being part of this community means showing up, not just when there’s a broken AC, but at the events that keep small towns alive.
🍽 Masons Pancake Breakfast
I sponsor the Masonic Lodge pancake breakfast that benefits the Kingfisher school band. These civic events are the heartbeat of small-town Oklahoma.
📰 Kingfisher News, Shops Page
You’ll find Hartzell’s on the Shops page of the Kingfisher News. I believe in supporting local journalism and the community it serves.
🍴 Local Restaurant Advertising
I advertise in local restaurants around the area. When you sit down for a meal in town, you should know who to call when your AC goes out.
Dover & Okarche
My service area includes the smaller surrounding communities of Dover and Okarche, towns where everybody knows everybody, and your word really is your bond. These communities deserve the same quality of service as any big city, and I make sure they get it.
The Van That Started It All
Before the modern fleet, before the website, before 47 years of Oklahoma HVAC, there was the van. This 1964 GMC has been restored and wrapped with the Hartzell’s cartoon mascot, and it still turns heads everywhere it goes in Kingfisher. It’s not just a truck. It’s a piece of the community’s history.

Rooted in Kingfisher
Proud Gold Member, Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce
I have run my shop right here in Kingfisher for 15 plus years, and this town is the reason I get to do work I love. Being a Gold member of the Chamber is my way of staying in the middle of it, not just hanging a plaque on the wall.
When you call me, you are calling a neighbor. I look for ways to give back to the community that has backed me for all these years, and I want my name to mean something in the place I actually live and work.
