One rule catches people: the free OMPA energy audit has to happen before the old system comes out, or the rebate is lost, so I schedule around it. Out in the county most places are on Cimarron Electric, headquartered right here, whose 2026 list pays flat amounts on new equipment: $600 for a geothermal heat pump, $500 for an air-source heat pump, $400 for a mini-split of 2 tons or more and $300 for central AC, up to $1,200 per member per home per year.
