What happens when I get to your house
- The simple things firstThermostat, filter, breaker and the outdoor disconnect. I do not open the equipment until those are ruled out.
- Electrical under loadCapacitor microfarads, contactor condition and compressor amp draw. If the capacitor failed I check what killed it.
- Refrigerant on gaugesSuperheat and subcooling against the manufacturer’s spec. A leak gets found and repaired under EPA Section 608 rules, not topped off.
- Airflow and coilsStatic pressure, blower speed and amps, and the condition of both coils.
- A written price, then you decideYou get the number before I pick up a tool, and the diagnostic is not credited toward it.
What you get either way
If you smell gas, or a carbon monoxide alarm goes off, leave the house first and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Then call me. That comes before any troubleshooting I could talk you through.

Pat Hennessey, and why the town sits where it does
The town is named for a freighter who never finished his trip. Pat Hennessey was hauling north through Indian Territory when he was killed on July 6, 1874, near the Kingfisher and Garfield county line. Bull Foot Park on the south end marks where the Chisholm Trail came through and where the drovers watered stock. Highway 81 still follows that same line north, and it is the road I take to get here.

What does a service call cost in Hennessey?
$210 flat: $99 dispatch plus $111 diagnostic. After hours is $309, which is $198 dispatch plus the same $111. The diagnostic is not credited toward the repair.
My farmhouse has no ductwork. What are my options?
A ductless system. It mounts on the wall and needs a three inch hole instead of a duct chase, which is why it suits the older houses around Hennessey. I am a Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer, and a registered install carries 12 years on parts and compressor on a single-family home.
Is a heat pump better than propane out here?
It changes how the house is heated: one system does heating and cooling instead of burning propane for heat. Whether it fits depends on the house and the ductwork, and I will tell you straight after I look.
