ClimateMaster Repair Oklahoma

Authorized GeoElite Dealer. IGSHPA Accredited. 45 Years HVAC Experience.

If you typed “Climate Masters Oklahoma City” or “Climate Masters OKC” into Google, you are in the right place. I service ClimateMaster geothermal units across central Oklahoma, including Kingfisher, Oklahoma City, Edmond, Yukon, Enid, and the surrounding counties.

ClimateMaster builds some of the best geothermal equipment on the market, and I’ve been servicing their units out of my Kingfisher shop for years. If your Tranquility, GeoElite, or Trilogy stopped working, runs warm instead of cold, trips a breaker, or just feels like it’s not pulling the temperature it used to, I can help. I’m a ClimateMaster GeoElite dealer, IGSHPA Accredited for ground-source heat pumps, and I carry the specific diagnostic tools most HVAC shops in Oklahoma don’t own.

Common ClimateMaster Issues I Fix

After 45 years in HVAC and a decade focused heavily on geothermal, I’ve seen the same ClimateMaster failure patterns repeat across central Oklahoma. Here’s what usually walks through the door:

Reversing valve stuck (heat to cool or cool to heat won’t switch)

The reversing valve is what lets a heat pump run both modes. When it hangs up, you get cool air in winter or warm air in summer. On the Tranquility 27 and 30 I see the valve solenoid coil fail more often than the valve body. I test the coil ohms first before ever pulling the valve, which saves you a lot of money if the coil is the real issue.

Loop pressure loss

This is the number one geothermal problem in Oklahoma. Our freeze-thaw cycles and shifting clay soil put stress on the loop. Low pressure means the heat pump can’t move heat in or out of the ground, so the unit runs constantly and still can’t hit setpoint. I pressure-test the full loop, check the glycol antifreeze mix, and repressurize or repair as needed. Most HVAC shops don’t carry the loop pump or the glycol, so they’ll tell you to call a well driller. I handle it in-house.

Flow center pump failure

The flow center circulates the loop fluid through the ground and back through the heat exchanger. When one of the circulator pumps fails, you get poor heat transfer, high head pressure, and eventually a compressor lockout. Grundfos and Taco pumps are what ClimateMaster uses most. I stock the common sizes so I’m usually back up the same visit.

Desuperheater relay and hot water problems

A lot of ClimateMaster units have a desuperheater that makes free hot water while the unit is running. When the relay or the aquastat fails, you either get no hot water assist or the system short-cycles. Easy fix once you know where to look. I diagnose this on every geothermal call where the owner mentions their hot water bill went up.

Control board and communication faults

The Trilogy 45 Q-Mode and newer GeoElite units run a communicating board. When the CXM or iGate board throws a fault, the error code tells the story if you know how to read it. I pull the fault history, run the ClimateMaster service tool, and replace what’s actually bad instead of swapping parts until something works.

Frozen coil, dirty blower, refrigerant charge drift

The standard air-side problems still happen on geothermal. Dirty filters lead to a frozen coil. Worn blower wheels throw static pressure out of spec. Refrigerant charge drifts over 10 to 15 years and needs verified. I check all of this on a proper diagnostic, not just the part you asked me to look at.

Why You Need an IGSHPA Dealer, Not Just Any HVAC Company

Geothermal is not the same animal as a conventional split system. Most Oklahoma HVAC companies will refuse the call or guess their way through it. Here’s what the right contractor needs:

  • Loop pressure testing equipment. You need a pump and gauge set rated for the loop psi, plus glycol to repressurize. A regular HVAC tech doesn’t own this.
  • Refrigerant charge procedure on the earth loop side. Geothermal charging uses entering water temperature as the reference, not outdoor air. Get that wrong and you damage the compressor.
  • Glycol antifreeze mix verification. Propylene glycol or methanol, depending on what’s in the loop. Wrong concentration means the loop freezes or the heat transfer falls off.
  • ClimateMaster-specific diagnostics. The iGate and CXM service tools talk to the board and pull fault history. GeoElite dealers get access to the full service literature and parts channel.
  • IGSHPA training. The International Ground Source Heat Pump Association certifies technicians on ground-loop design, installation, and service. I’m IGSHPA Accredited. Most HVAC techs in Oklahoma are not.

I’m a ClimateMaster GeoElite dealer with direct factory support, I carry the pump and glycol on my truck, and I’ve been specifically trained on every residential line ClimateMaster makes. When you’re paying good money to fix a $20,000 to $30,000 system, you want somebody who actually knows the equipment.

ClimateMaster Service Pricing

Not Sure If Your ClimateMaster Is Worth Saving?

Here’s the honest version most contractors won’t give you. A ClimateMaster unit from the late 1990s or 2000s that’s had a compressor fail, a coil leak, and a control board go can still be worth rebuilding, if the loop is good. The loop is usually the most expensive part of the whole system. If your ground loop passes a pressure test and the glycol checks out, keeping that loop and refurbishing the indoor cabinet is often the smartest financial move.

HVAC Rebuild / Refurbishment pricing on geothermal:

  • Geothermal refurbishment starts at $3,500 installed
  • Up to 5-year warranty when the loop verifies good on pressure test
  • Extends system life 8 to 10 years
  • Compares against $15,000 to $30,000 for a full geothermal replacement

When refurbishment is NOT the right call: if the compressor is scored, the coil has multiple leaks, and the loop can’t hold pressure, you’re throwing good money after bad. I’ll tell you that on the diagnostic. Read the full refurbishment breakdown on the HVAC Rebuild page, and if you’re in a CKenergy rebate county a full geothermal replacement may actually pencil out better thanks to the $2,000-per-ton rebate.

ClimateMaster Models I Service

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does ClimateMaster geothermal repair cost in Oklahoma?

$99 dispatch plus $111 diagnostic to get the unit on the truck. The diagnostic credits back toward the repair if you accept within 14 days. Most common repairs (reversing valve, flow center pump, control board) run $400 to $1,800 with parts and labor. I quote the full job before I start the work.

Is Hartzell’s a certified ClimateMaster dealer?

Yes. I’m a ClimateMaster GeoElite dealer with direct factory support, I’m IGSHPA Accredited for geothermal service and design, and I hold a Master HVAC License. That combination is rare in Oklahoma.

Can you service Tranquility 27, GeoElite, or Trilogy units?

All of them. Tranquility 22, 27, 30, 31. GeoElite. Trilogy 45 Q-Mode. Legacy TMW and TCH cabinets too. I have the iGate service tool, the loop pump, glycol, and OEM parts channel.

What if my ground loop is leaking or won’t hold pressure?

Loop pressure loss is the most common geothermal problem I see. I pressure-test, check the glycol mix, and repressurize or repair. If there’s a buried leak I locate it before anybody digs. Loop repressurization is included free on the Geo 360 maintenance plan.

Do you warranty ClimateMaster repairs?

Yes. Factory parts warranty on all OEM ClimateMaster parts when installed by an authorized GeoElite dealer. I stand behind my labor. Refurbishment work carries up to a 5-year warranty when the loop verifies good.

Can my old ClimateMaster be rebuilt instead of replaced?

Usually yes. If the loop passes pressure test, refurbishment starts at $3,500 with up to 5-year warranty. That’s against $15,000 to $30,000 for a full replacement. I’ll give you the honest math either way. Full details on the HVAC Rebuild page.

How fast can you get out to look at my unit?

Same-day service is usually available, especially in summer and deep winter. Call 405-375-4822 first thing in the morning for best odds. Geo 360 plan members get priority scheduling.
