From Dave Hartzell | Kingfisher, OK | 45 years HVAC experience
I’ve been doing spring tune-ups in Kingfisher County since I opened. Every year it’s the same story, people wait until May, the schedule fills up, they can’t get in, and then one 95° day in June their AC goes out. Now they’re looking at a $99 dispatch + $111 diagnostic + repair costs, plus waiting a week while their house sits at 85°.
A $99 spring visit in March or April catches the same problems that would cost $400-$1,500 to fix in July. That’s the only math that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does a $99 spring tune-up include?
A full inspection of your AC system: refrigerant level and pressures, capacitor and contactor test, coil inspection, safety controls, drain line check, and a written service report. A NATE-certified technician does the work, not an apprentice or subcontractor. You get a 6-month labor warranty on anything I find and fix.
What if my system needs a repair?
I’ll explain exactly what I found, why it matters, and give you an upfront written estimate before I touch anything. If you accept a repair estimate within 14 days, the $111 diagnostic fee credits toward the repair invoice. You’re never obligated to do anything same-day.
Do you charge extra if my system is older?
No. The $99 spring visit is flat rate regardless of system age. If your system is older I’ll tell you honestly what I’m seeing and what to watch for, no pressure sales, just straight answers.
How is this different from the $79 tune-ups I see advertised?
Most low-cost tune-ups are 20-minute filter-and-go visits with no written report and no warranty. My $99 visit includes a full refrigerant check, capacitor and contactor test, coil inspection, written service report, and a 6-month labor warranty. A NATE-certified tech does the work. That’s the difference.
When should I schedule a spring tune-up?
March through early May in Oklahoma, before the heat hits and before my schedule fills. Once it gets into late May, wait times stretch to 2-3 weeks. Scheduling now takes 15 minutes and gets you ahead of the rush.
