Common HVAC Repair Questions

How does the $111 diagnostic work?

Hartzell’s charges $111 to diagnose what’s wrong — and that fee is separate from the repair cost on the same visit.

Dave or one of our NATE-certified technicians will arrive, diagnose the problem, and give you a written repair estimate before touching anything. If you approve the repair, the $111 diagnostic is credited toward the repair cost. If you don’t, you pay the $111 and owe nothing more. The $99 dispatch fee applies to every service call and is not refunded.

How long does an HVAC repair take?

Most repairs are completed same day — common fixes like capacitors, contactors, and blower motors take 1–2 hours. Refrigerant work takes longer.

If we have the part on the truck (capacitors, contactors, fan motors, ignitors, and most common components are stocked), the repair is done the same visit. Special-order parts or refrigerant work may require a follow-up, but we tell you upfront. Emergency repairs outside normal hours are available in the Kingfisher area — call 405-375-4822.

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system?

Repair if the system is under 10 years old and the repair is less than 50% of replacement cost. Replace if it’s over 15 years, needs a major component, or uses R-22 refrigerant.

Dave gives honest guidance on repair vs. replacement — not a sales pitch. If the system is newer and the repair is reasonable, repair makes sense. If the unit is aging, has had multiple repairs, or the repair cost approaches replacement cost, a new system often makes more financial sense. We’ll tell you which is which.

How much does HVAC repair cost in Kingfisher Oklahoma?

Most HVAC repairs in Kingfisher run $150–$800 installed, after the $111 diagnostic. Common fixes like capacitors and contactors are on the low end. Refrigerant work and motor replacements run higher.

The $111 diagnostic fee is always charged first and credited toward the repair if you approve it. Capacitor and contactor replacements — the most common AC repairs — typically run $150–$400 total. Refrigerant leaks, blower motors, and control boards run $450–$1,200. Compressor replacement is $1,400–$3,000 and we’ll discuss whether full replacement makes more sense at that point. All prices are quoted in writing before work begins.

Does Hartzell’s offer same-day HVAC repair in central Oklahoma?

Yes — same-day diagnosis is available in most of the Kingfisher area. For repairs where parts are stocked on the truck, the repair is often completed the same visit.

Hartzell’s stocks the most common repair parts — capacitors, contactors, fan motors, igniters — on the service truck. For these repairs, you get diagnosed and fixed in one visit. For less common parts, we’ll give you an ETA and schedule the follow-up. Call 405-375-4822 to check same-day availability for your area.
