Start with your air filter. A clogged filter will shut down airflow and cause the system to freeze up or trip off on high pressure. Also check that your thermostat is set to Cool and the temperature is below the current room temp. If those are fine and you’re still not getting cold air, it’s time to call me at 405-375-4822 for a diagnostic. Could be a capacitor, refrigerant issue, or something else I can pinpoint quickly.
How do I know if I need a repair or a full HVAC replacement?
A good rule is the 50% rule: if the repair cost is more than half the price of a new system, and your equipment is over 12 years old, replacement usually makes more financial sense. I give free estimates on all new system installations. When I come out, I’ll be straight with you about whether a repair is the right call or if it’s time to replace. I don’t push unnecessary installs.
