Oklahoma HVAC Resource Center
Every tool you need to make a smart HVAC decision, from Dave Hartzell, 47 years experience
I built these tools because I got tired of giving people the same estimates over the phone before they were ready to decide. Now you can run the numbers yourself first, understand what you are looking at, and call me when you are ready to talk specifics. Every tool on this page uses real Oklahoma data, utility rates, rebate programs, ground temperatures, climate zones. No national averages that do not apply here.

Why I Built These Tools
Most HVAC contractors do not publish their pricing, do not explain the rebate math, and definitely do not give you a calculator to run the numbers before they show up. I do things differently. I learned early that an informed customer makes a better decision, and that a customer who trusts you will call you back for the next 20 years.
These tools use real Oklahoma data: CKenergy, OGE, OEC, and Cimarron rebate programs, actual ground temperatures for our soil, Oklahoma climate zone design temperatures (99 degrees Fahrenheit cooling, 14 degrees Fahrenheit heating), and current energy prices. Run the numbers, get comfortable with what you are looking at, then call me.
Ready to Talk?
I answer questions for free. No obligation, no sales pitch. Just a straight answer from someone who has been doing this for 47 years.

Frequently asked questions
Are there still federal tax credits for new HVAC in Oklahoma?
The federal 25C and 25D credits expired December 31, 2025. Anything you read online claiming a 2026 federal HVAC tax credit is out of date. Oklahoma utility rebates are still active and worth real money.
Which Oklahoma utilities offer HVAC rebates in 2026?
OG&E pays $1,000 per ton on geothermal and up to $3,000 on a high-efficiency air-source unit. CKenergy pays $2,000 per ton on geo (10 counties, not Kingfisher). Cimarron Electric pays $600. KPWA, CVEC, and OEC all run programs. Call 405-375-4822 and I’ll tell you exactly what your meter qualifies for.
How do I find a licensed HVAC contractor in Oklahoma?
Check the Construction Industries Board license database. Make sure the company itself holds the mechanical license, not just one tech. I hold the Master HVAC license, which is the top tier in the state.
What should I do before calling for an HVAC service appointment?
Check the thermostat batteries, replace the air filter if it’s been more than 60 days, and make sure both breakers are on (one inside, one outside). That fixes about one in five no-cool calls before I even roll a truck.
Where can I learn about geothermal heat pumps in Oklahoma?
Start with the geothermal pages on this site, then call me at 405-375-4822 for a free site visit. I’ve drilled and looped geo in this area for over 20 years. IGSHPA accredited, and I’ll show you real customer bills before and after.
