Okeene is deep Blaine County, a small, tight-knit farming community where people know each other and recommendations travel fast. I’ve been servicing out there for years. When I do a job in Okeene and do it right, three of the neighbors usually end up calling. That’s how it works in a town like that, and it keeps me honest. Pre-Summer AC Check, Okeene, OK
I see the same pattern every year. The first 95-degree day in Okeene hits and the phone starts ringing with no-cool calls, mostly from systems that were already weak the previous fall. A spring tune-up is Tune-Up PMA at $138/yr: I check refrigerant pressures, capacitor health, contactor wear, blower amps, condenser coil condition, and write you a quote on anything borderline before it strands you in July. If the system is 12-plus years old and on R-22, I will tell you straight whether to replace now or nurse it one more summer. Free estimates on replacement. Call 405-375-4822.
Frequently Asked Questions, Okeene HVAC & Geothermal
How much does AC repair cost in Okeene, OK?
Every AC service call in Okeene starts with a $99 dispatch fee and $111 diagnostic. The $111 covers a full evaluation with refrigerant pressure checks, capacitor and contactor test, blower amp draw, and a written quote on every issue I find. That $111 is credited toward repair or replacement if you approve within 14 days. Typical AC repairs in Okeene: capacitor swap $205-$420, refrigerant recharge $200-$600 depending on the leak, condenser fan motor $450-$750, compressor $1,800-$3,200. Free estimates on replacement. Call 405-375-4822.
Can you get same-day AC repair in Okeene during 100-degree heat?
In July and August when Okeene is sitting at 100-plus, same-day is what I aim for. I prioritize no-cool calls by route, and Okeene is about 50 minutes from my Kingfisher shop, so I can usually be there the same day if you call before noon. After-hours emergency runs are available too: $99 dispatch + $111 diagnostic + repair cost, all three apply. Call 405-375-4822 first thing and tell whoever answers your AC is down. I do not stack jobs in front of an emergency in triple-digit heat.
Should I replace my AC before summer hits Okeene?
If your AC is 12-plus years old, running on R-22 refrigerant, or has needed two or more repairs in the last two summers, replacing before June makes sense. Spring installs are quicker because I am not stacked on emergency calls, and you avoid the panic premium of replacing when it is 102 outside. New high-SEER systems can cut your summer electric bill 30-50 percent versus a tired 10-SEER unit. Free estimates, Synchrony 0 percent financing for 60 months on qualifying installs. Call 405-375-4822 and I will come out and size it right.
Does Okeene qualify for the CKenergy geothermal rebate?
Yes, Okeene is in Blaine County, which is in CKenergy Electric Cooperative territory. CKenergy offers $2,000 per ton in geothermal rebates, up to $24,000 per installation. They also offer co-op loans at 6%, 4-7 year terms, which can significantly reduce the monthly cost. I’m IGSHPA accredited and handle the rebate paperwork as part of every installation. Call 405-375-4822 for a free geothermal estimate.
How much can I save on geothermal in Blaine County, OK?
A CKenergy member in Blaine County with a 3-ton geothermal install gets $6,000 back in rebates. A 4-ton gets $8,000. A 5-ton gets $10,000 (max $24,000). Beyond the rebate, geothermal typically cuts heating and cooling utility bills 50-70% compared to propane or electric resistance heat. The payback period in this area is typically 7-12 years, and systems last 25+ years on the interior equipment. Call 405-375-4822 to run the numbers for your home.

What is the Okeene Rattlesnake Hunt and how does it affect HVAC schedules?
The Okeene Rattlesnake Hunt runs the first weekend in May every year. It started in 1939 when local farmers, including Orville Von Gulker, organized to control western diamondback rattlesnakes that were coming out of the gypsum hills and killing cattle. It became a tradition. Attendance peaked at 16,000 to 18,000 people in the 1970s and it is considered the oldest rattlesnake event in the United States. If you need service the week of the Hunt, call early. The whole county is busy that weekend and I book up fast. 405-375-4822.

Okeene, Oklahoma: Where the Rattlesnake Hunt Started as Pest Control
In 1939, a farmer named Orville Von Gulker and some neighbors decided to do something about the western diamondback rattlesnakes coming out of the gypsum hills and killing cattle. They organized a hunt. It worked well enough that they did it again the next year, and the year after that, and the year after that. Over eighty years later, the Okeene Rattlesnake Hunt still runs every first weekend in May and has drawn crowds of 16,000 to 18,000 people in its peak years.
The snakes are real. The red gypsum and limestone hills west of Okeene are prime habitat for western diamondbacks. When they came out in the spring and ranchers started losing livestock, the community decided to hunt them back. That practical response to a real agricultural problem became one of the most unusual and enduring community traditions in Oklahoma. It is the oldest rattlesnake event in the United States.
Okeene is farm and ranch country in Blaine County, and the homes I service out here reflect that. Older farmhouses, some stone construction from the gypsum-era quarrying, heat systems that were built for function not efficiency. I cover this area from Kingfisher. Call 405-375-4822.
