Replacing a unit on your existing loop? Leave the ground loop unticked: I look over your existing loop at the Free Geothermal Consultation first, and a pressure and flow test of it is the separate $348 geothermal diagnostic. New geothermal system? Tick “Add the ground loop” below. My licensed driller bores the loop, and I design it, size the system and stand behind the install.
Pay cash or check and it’s about 10% off. Pick it under “How do you plan to pay?”
The Trilogy SV is ClimateMaster’s top packaged geothermal heat pump: variable-speed compressor, variable-speed blower and a variable-speed loop pump built in, so it runs at just the speed the house needs. The loop pump is inside the unit, so no separate flow center is needed.
Not sure of your size? The old nameplate is a starting point, not the answer. I run a load calculation at the Free Geothermal Consultation.
Add to your system
Most installs need nothing extra. About 1 in 10 homes needs new ductwork, and I’ll tell you at the Free Geothermal Consultation.
Nice to have Optional upgrades.
What could geothermal do to your bills?
ClimateMaster says homeowners can see “up to 80% savings over your existing heating and cooling system costs” (ClimateMaster Geothermal Savings Calculator). Type your average monthly bills and I show that best case in dollars.
Filled with Oklahoma’s average electric bill, $132.05 a month (EIA-861, 2024, Table 5A). Add your gas or propane bill if you have one.
This is ClimateMaster’s published best case applied to the bills you entered, not a promise. Real savings depend on your house, your old system and your rates. I’ll run the real numbers from your bills at the Free Geothermal Consultation.
Two ways to own geothermal
- Lease it: Hartzell’s Full Coverage Geothermal Plan, $0 upfront, one monthly payment.1
- Buy it for your business: may qualify for an IRS business tax credit program. Call Dave at 405-375-4822 to learn how.2
1 10-year lease; an end-of-term buyout applies. Payment examples carry Palmetto’s disclaimer, shown in the plan details. Lease customers do not claim the tax credit.
2 Available to businesses that depreciate the property. Your tax professional confirms eligibility.
Without my professional installation there is no warranty from me, and a manufacturer can deny its warranty when the equipment is not installed by a licensed HVAC contractor.
Federal EPA Section 608 rules require an EPA certified technician to handle the refrigerant in this equipment. To buy equipment only, I need a copy of your EPA 608 certification, or the certification of the technician installing it.
Your size, loop footage and final price are confirmed in writing after the load calculation, before anything is ordered.
Equipment only is available if you’d rather. Refrigerant-charged equipment has to be installed by an EPA Section 608 certified technician, the loop connection has to be done right for the warranty to hold, and equipment is ordered for your job, so ask me about returns before you buy.
- Sizes
- 2½, 4, 6 ton
- Type
- Variable-speed packaged geothermal heat pump with electric backup heat
- Stages
- Variable speed
- Heat source
- Ground loop (closed loop)
- Backup heat
- Electric
- Capacity
- Variable: 9,000 to 72,000 Btuh across three sizes
- Loop pump
- Variable-speed, built into the unit (no separate flow center)
Each size shows its AHRI certificate and ground-loop rating (ISO 13256-1). The rating for your loop and house comes with your written quote.
What these terms mean
- AFUE
- How much of the gas a furnace turns into heat. An 80% furnace vents up a metal flue. A 90%+ furnace vents through PVC pipe and needs a drain, so I check your house first.
- Variable speed (inverter)
- Ramps up and down to match the house: the steadiest temperatures and the best humidity control.
- Dual fuel
- A heat pump does most of the heating, and the gas furnace takes over when it gets really cold.
- AHRI certificate
- An independent certificate that this exact outdoor unit, coil and furnace or air handler were tested together and earn the rating shown.
It’s the quietest, most even comfort ClimateMaster builds, and it slows down instead of cycling on and off.
Dave Hartzell, Master HVAC
Install day
- Before install day: a Free Geothermal Consultation and a Manual J load calculation. Then your written quote. Testing an existing loop is the separate $348 geothermal diagnostic.
- I protect floors and walkways, shut off power, and take out the old unit.
- New unit set and connected to your loop with a new hose kit.
- Loop flushed and purged of air, and the antifreeze checked.
- Startup readings written down: loop temperatures, pressures and airflow.
- Cleanup, a walkthrough of the thermostat and filter, and the old unit hauled off.
A new geothermal system takes 3 to 4 days. Your install date and timeline come with your written quote. See my full install standard.
Warranty
- ClimateMaster 10-year limited parts warranty from start-up on the unit, thermostat, backup electric heat and loop pumping module. Parts only, not labor.
- ClimateMaster 5-year labor allowance: a set amount ClimateMaster credits toward authorized service labor on the unit’s parts, not full labor coverage.
- Residential, original owner. You register it for the longer parts coverage, and my post-install email sends you the link.
- My 2-year labor warranty on the installation
Manufacturer warranties cover parts, not labor. My 2-year labor warranty covers the installation.
Paying for it
Ways to pay: cash or check (about 10% off every price), credit cards, and financing through Hearth, Wisetack, JB Financing, Klarna, Synchrony and Wells Fargo. Cash is king, and I take cards too. Hearth, Wisetack, Klarna and JB Financing check offers with a soft credit pull, so looking won’t touch your score. Hearth works with credit scores as low as 550. Subject to credit approval.
Rather not pay for it up front?
Hartzell’s Full Coverage Geothermal Plan
A 10-year lease with $0 upfront and 120 monthly payments, the same every month at the 0% escalator. One payment covers the system, the ground loop, the install, controls, maintenance, filters, repairs and service labor, subject to the contract’s terms. At the end of the term you can choose to own it for about 22% of the job cost, for example about $5,500 on a $25,000 system. During the term it’s a lease, so you own it only if you take that end-of-term option.
Payment examples: $25,000 system = $225 a month; $40,000 system = $332 a month, 120 payments, $0 upfront. Your payment depends on the total cost of your job. These are examples, not a quote.
Disclaimer: Labor, filters, and preventative maintenance are all subject to terms and limitations included in the contract. Inflation-Proof Protection is based on expected inflation costs on services covered under the contract for the ten-year term. Interest Paid is estimated on an annual percentage rate expressed as a yearly percentage and does not imply that the Monthly Payment is exclusive of lease costs related to the geothermal system.
Through third-party ownership, Palmetto can monetize available tax credits and apply that value to the customer’s benefit.
Why geothermal: it runs quiet and steady, with no outdoor unit roaring in July. The loop is the part that lasts: some of my customers are on their third generation of equipment on the same loop. And on the plan, one monthly payment covers repairs and maintenance.
Offered where I install geothermal (the lease isn’t available in Minnesota), on residential projects up to $200,000. See the Full Coverage Geothermal Plan.

Free Geothermal Consultation: evaluation, consultation and sizing at no charge and no obligation. Saturdays and Sundays I do it statewide, as availability allows. On weekdays I start with a phone call, so send me your utility bills first and then I set the visit. A geothermal diagnostic on a system that is not working is a separate $348 service call.
Utility rebates: you apply for and receive any rebate from your electric utility. I help with the application and give you the equipment details and paperwork the utility asks for. Tell me your ZIP and electric utility, and I check the current program before anyone quotes an amount.
Questions about this system
How much does a ClimateMaster Trilogy SV system cost in Kingfisher Oklahoma?
Pick your size above: the smallest size starts at $32,100 for the equipment. Replacing a unit on your existing loop adds my $4,300 installation. A new system adds the ground loop, priced by size ($13,600 for 2 ton, up to $40,800 for 6 ton), and $7,470 to $9,960 installation over 3 to 4 days. You see the final price in writing before anything is ordered.
Do I need a new loop?
Usually not. I look over your existing loop at the Free Geothermal Consultation, and a pressure and flow test of it is the separate $348 geothermal diagnostic. Geo loops outlast the equipment, and plenty of the loops I service are on their second or third unit.
What about the flow center?
On a replacement I reuse your existing flow center (the loop pump). On a new system it’s sized to your loop and included in the ground loop line.
What warranty comes with it?
ClimateMaster 10-year limited parts warranty from start-up on the unit, thermostat, backup electric heat and loop pumping module. Parts only, not labor. ClimateMaster 5-year labor allowance: a set amount ClimateMaster credits toward authorized service labor on the unit’s parts, not full labor coverage. Residential, original owner. You register it for the longer parts coverage, and my post-install email sends you the link. My 2-year labor warranty covers the installation.
Can I pay monthly instead?
My Full Coverage Geothermal Plan is a 10-year lease with $0 upfront. One monthly payment covers the system, loop, install, maintenance, filters, repairs and service labor, subject to the contract’s terms. It’s a lease, so there’s an end-of-term buyout if you want to own it.
Is the geothermal consultation free?
