Longdale, Oklahoma: The Railroad Arrived in 1905 and the Town Became Real

Longdale is named for Lucious Walter Long, but the town really exists because of his wife Carrie. She donated their 160-acre homestead to a townsite company to make the development happen. Her name is not on the town, but her land is what the town stands on. The Longdale Ledger published its first issue on October 23, 1903, so the community had a newspaper before it had a railroad.

The Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railway arrived on June 10, 1905. That is the date the town became an actual commercial center rather than just a cluster of homesteads. The railroad brought the grain market, the supplies, the ability to ship what this land produced. Before June 10, 1905, Longdale was a name on a map. After that date it was a working town.

Rural Blaine County farming community. Older homes, ranch property, the same mix of propane and aging central systems that you find throughout this part of Oklahoma. I service Longdale and the surrounding area. Call 405-375-4822.

Longdale, Oklahoma: Where Canton Lake Meets Blaine County Geo Country

Longdale is one of my favorite service calls in the whole territory — it’s near Canton Lake in Blaine County, about 50 miles northwest of Kingfisher, and the mix of properties is genuinely interesting. You’ve got lake-area homes and cabins that get heavy seasonal use and need reliable year-round comfort, working farms with older equipment that’s been coaxed along for too many years, and newer construction that sometimes has the opposite problem — brand-new equipment installed without a proper load calculation. All three of those situations have different answers, and I take the time to figure out which one I’m looking at before making any recommendation.

Blaine County is CKenergy electric co-op territory, which means Longdale homeowners may qualify for the $2,000-per-ton CKenergy geothermal rebate — the highest in my service area. The lake-area soil conditions and lot sizes around Longdale vary; some properties are excellent for horizontal loop geo, others may need vertical drilling depending on terrain. CKenergy also offers 6% financing for 4–7 years on energy-efficiency upgrades. I’ll walk your property, assess the soil and lot, calculate your load, and give you a written estimate — no obligation, no guessing. Call 405-375-4822 to schedule.

Yes — Blaine County is part of CKenergy Electric Cooperative’s 10-county service territory. CKenergy offers up to $2,000 per ton on qualifying geothermal installations, with a maximum of $24,000. On a 3-ton system that’s $6,000 back; on a 4-ton, $8,000. We confirm your specific address is on CKenergy service during the estimate visit. CKenergy also offers low-interest financing at around 6% for 4–7 years. Call 405-375-4822 to get started.

Do you service lake cabins and seasonal homes near Canton Lake?

Yes — seasonal and vacation properties near Canton Lake are absolutely in our service area. We can install, maintain, or repair systems in lake cabins, and we’re comfortable working on properties that may have non-standard setups, older systems, or unique layout challenges. Mini-split systems are often a great fit for cabins or additions that lack ductwork. Call 405-375-4822 and describe your property — we’ll tell you exactly what makes sense.

What maintenance plan makes sense for a Longdale homeowner?

For most Longdale-area homeowners, Dave’s 360 Plan at $360/year is our most popular choice — two full tune-ups per year, priority scheduling, waived $99 dispatch fee, and discounted diagnostic rates. If you have a geothermal system, our Geo 360 Plan at $499/year adds loop repressurization and a full geo-specific inspection protocol. Maintenance plan members also get a waived dispatch fee on every call — which matters when you’re 50 miles from Kingfisher. Call 405-375-4822 to enroll.
