Professional installation$3,200
Your total$18,090

Pay cash or check and it’s about 10% off. Pick it under “How do you plan to pay?”

A packaged heat pump + electric backup heat in one cabinet that sits outside on a pad and connects to your existing ductwork. The power entry kit, plenum or transition and pad are confirmed at the estimate visit.

Not sure of your size? The old nameplate is a starting point, not the answer. I run a load calculation at the estimate visit.

Add to your system

Most installs need nothing extra. About 1 in 10 homes needs new ductwork, and I’ll tell you at the estimate visit.

Most homes need I check these at the estimate visit and reuse what’s good.
Nice to have Optional upgrades.
How do you plan to pay? (optional; cash or check takes about 10% off)

Cash is king: pick Cash or check and every price is about 10% off. Cards and financing pay the posted price. Hearth, Wisetack, Klarna and JB Financing check offers with a soft credit pull, so looking won’t touch your score. Hearth works with credit scores as low as 550: check your options. Subject to credit approval.

Your total

Your size and final price are confirmed in writing after the load calculation, before anything is ordered.

Equipment only is available if you’d rather. Refrigerant-charged equipment has to be installed by an EPA Section 608 certified technician, the warranty has to be registered on time and covers parts, not labor, and equipment is ordered for your job, so ask me about returns before you buy.

Sizes
2, 2½, 3, 3½, 4, 5 ton
Type
Packaged heat pump + electric backup heat
Stages
Single-stage
Setup
Outside on a pad, connected to your existing ductwork
Certified efficiency
13.4 to 13.6 SEER2 by size, 6.7 to 7 HSPF2 (AHRI certified sizes)

Efficiency is the AHRI-certified rating for each size, shown with its certificate number.

What these terms mean
SEER2
Cooling efficiency over a whole season. Higher means less power for the same cooling. The number shown is the AHRI-certified rating.
EER2
Cooling efficiency on a hot 95 degree afternoon, the kind of day Oklahoma has all July.
HSPF2
Heat pump heating efficiency over a winter. Higher is better.
Single-stage
Runs full speed or off. Simple and reliable.
Two-stage
Runs on low most of the time and high on the hottest days, for steadier temperatures.
Dual fuel
A heat pump does most of the heating, and the gas furnace takes over when it gets really cold.
AHRI certificate
An independent certificate that this exact outdoor unit, coil and furnace or air handler were tested together and earn the rating shown.
R-454B and R-32
The refrigerants in today’s new equipment. Manufacturers stopped building new R-410A systems at the start of 2025.
Why I’d install this

When the house is set up for a package unit, swapping like for like is the simplest, cleanest job there is.

Who it’s forHouses with a package unit on a pad or slab now.
Who it’s not forHouses with a split system now: a split replacement fits those better.

Dave Hartzell, Master HVAC

Install day

  1. Before install day: an estimate visit, Manual J load calculation, and a check of the pad, duct connection, power and gas. Then your written quote.
  2. I protect walkways, shut off power and gas, and take out the old package unit.
  3. New unit set and leveled on the pad and connected to your existing ductwork, with a new transition where it needs one.
  4. Power, gas where it has gas heat, and condensate connected.
  5. Startup readings written down: pressures, temperatures and airflow.
  6. Cleanup, a walkthrough of the thermostat and filter, and the old unit hauled off.

Your install date comes with your written quote. See my full install standard.

Questions about this package unit

How much does a Trane Choice 14 packaged heat pump cost in Kingfisher Oklahoma?

Pick your system size above: each size shows the package unit price, my $3,200 professional installation and the total. The smallest size starts at $14,090 for the equipment, and you see the final price in writing before anything is ordered.

Will a package unit fit my house?

A package unit sits outside on a pad and connects to your existing ductwork. At the estimate visit I check the duct connection, the pad, power, and the power entry kit, transition and pad are confirmed then.

How do I know what size I need?

I run a Manual J load calculation on your house at the estimate visit, so the size comes from the math, not the old unit’s nameplate.

Can I buy the equipment only?

Equipment only is available if you’d rather. Refrigerant-charged equipment has to be installed by an EPA Section 608 certified technician, the warranty has to be registered on time and covers parts, not labor, and equipment is ordered for your job, so ask me about returns before you buy.

Can I finance it?

Ways to pay: cash or check (about 10% off every price), credit cards, and financing through Hearth, Wisetack, JB Financing, Klarna, Synchrony and Wells Fargo. Cash is king, and I take cards too. Hearth, Wisetack, Klarna and JB Financing check offers with a soft credit pull, so looking won’t touch your score. Hearth works with credit scores as low as 550. Subject to credit approval.

Ready to see what fits your house?

I size it with a load calculation. New system? Free estimate. I measure the house and give you a written price, no pressure.
